Thanks to its remoteness, the impervious nature of the mountain and the low human impact on the environment, it preserves a very precious plant and fauna heritage, where rare and almost unique species of the Mediterranean have been able to live.
Mooring and lunch are under the promontory of Punta Troia, on the top of which we find the ruins of a castle overlooking the sea from the Spanish era dating back to the seventeenth century. and used first as a defense and later, until 1844, as a prison.
In the evening, after a light aperitif, we disembark for the free dinner which can be done in a typical restaurant in Marettimo to taste the local lobster soup.

After lunch it is possible to visit the very famous Grotta del Genovese dating back to the Paleolithic-Neolithic period with its splendid graffiti and paintings on the walls.

In the stretch of coast that goes from San Vito lo Capo to Castellammare del Golfo, where birds of prey live and nest, extends the Zingaro Nature Reserve, one of the most famous in Italy.
In ancient times it was called Cetaria due to the abundance of tuna found in its waters, in fact, the largest and best known cove is Tonnarella dell’Uzzo, one of the most enchanting bays in Sicily and keeper of the homonymous tonnarella.
The Reserve is the guardian of small bays of white pebbles, of a sea that is tinged with green, blue and light blue, of cliffs, rocks and small stacks that protect their bays.
The Mediterranean scrub that plunges into the sea offers to the senses of visitors olive trees, almond trees, carob trees, dwarf palms, present throughout the area and undisputed symbol of the Zingaro Reserve, orchids, and ash trees, cork trees alternating with euphorbia and mastic.
A short distance away is Scopello, an ancient stone village surrounded by a few leaning houses, a paved square, a recently restored stone drinking trough.
